Following the first act of the musical, the story follows the journey of Elphaba Thropp (Erivo) as she sets out on the path that leads her to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West. Through her friendship with the positive and upbeat Galinda (Grande), she navigates her way through Shiz University as she tries to hone her magic skills.
